Usually, cockatiels do not incubate the first egg immediately; after the second and third eggs hatch, the bird only incubates the first egg. Meanwhile, the duration needed to hatch bird eggs is about 18 to 20 days, with the baby bird ultimately emerging from the egg after 12 to 36 hours.

The lutino cockatiel is one of the most popular mutation birds. In the 1940s, bird breeders bred different color mutations in cockatiels. This breeding produces a variety of colors and certain bird traits. Lutino cockatiel males can sing, talk, and dance, which attracts females.
